Rookie Angel Reese extended her WNBA single-season record for consecutive games with a double-double to 12, helping the Chicago Sky beat the Seattle Storm 88-84 on Friday night.
Reese finished with a career-high 27 points and 10 rebounds. Reese, who led the WNBA in rebounds per game (11.8 per game) and offensive rebounds (4.8), went 8 of 13 from the field, missing both of her 3-point attempts. She also went 9 of 10 from the free throw line, including 4 of 4 in the final 20 seconds.
Reese’s 12 consecutive double-doubles also tied Candace Parker’s WNBA-record streak across multiple seasons; Parker’s performance spanned the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
“I don’t really think about it,” Reese said about getting double-doubles. “I just go out there and do my job. My job is to rebound, so I’m going to go out there and do my job and rebound. I know that’s what my teammates need me to do, and I’m looking forward to it.” I am committed.”
Chennady Carter scored a season-high 33 points on 15 of 24 shooting from the field for the Sky.
Reese hit a 3-pointer that gave Chicago (8-11) a 78-70 lead with 6:16 minutes remaining. Jewell Loyd hit a pull-up jumper and a tip-in putback to cut the deficit to four with 4 minutes remaining, and Jordan Horston’s 3-pointer was followed by back-to-back baskets by Ezzie Magbegor to put the Storm at 84. Pulled over at -82. There were 20.2 seconds left before Reese sealed it from the free throw line.
Seattle (13-7) had previously won four in a row, all by double-digit margins.
Horston led the Storm with a season-high 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Nneka Ogwumike added 16 points and Loyd added 13 points. Magbegor also scored 13 points with 8 rebounds and a career-high 8 blocks, and Skylar Diggins-Smith finished with 12 points and nine assists.
Rookie Kamila Cardoso finished with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks for Chicago.
Caitlin Clark
Caitlin Clark became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double on Saturday, posting 19 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds in an 83-78 comeback win over the first-ranked New York Liberty.
The Fever trailed 66–55 early in the fourth quarter, but Clark led Indiana in a strong comeback, including an 11–0 run that turned a 75–68 deficit into a 79–75 lead.
During that stretch, Clark converted a three-point play, found Kelsey Mitchell for a game-tying three-pointer and earned her 13th and final assist on a dish to Lexi Hull to cap the scoring run.
Liberty cut the Fever’s lead to 79–78 on Sabrina Ionescu’s three-pointer with 1:09 remaining, but that was as close as they could get. Indiana hit four consecutive free throws to tie the game.
Saturday was undoubtedly an amazing game for Clark, who not only posted her best professional stat line, but led her team in points, assists, rebounds and steals (two) in the comeback victory against the WNBA’s best team.

Team-wise, the Fever are looking great right now after a 3-10 start, winners of six of their last nine. The Fever are in playoff contention with the second half of the season just beginning, but with the talent firing on all cylinders they look to be in a good position to do so.
Of course, there’s the never-ending debate between Clark and Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese, which is unprecedented in itself.
Reese has recorded a WNBA record 12 consecutive double-doubles and counting after a stellar 27-point, 10-rebound outing in Friday’s 88-84 road win over the fourth-ranked Seattle Storm.
Fans will certainly debate whether Clark or Reese deserves WNBA Rookie of the Year, and that discussion continued Saturday as the ex-Iowa star put on a show. Of course, some people liked Clark’s performance and gave him the nod after seeing it.
Net worth
Reese’s net worth is not widely reported, as he has just begun his pro basketball career. However, just before the end of her college career her zero (name, image and likeness) valuation increased to $1.8 million, and it seems that her net worth has been estimated.
Distrify recently reported his net worth to be $2 million, while other sites put it at $1.8 million, $1.3 million, and $1.5 million.
