The Packers have listed safety Javon Bullard (ankle), receiver Christian Watson (knee) and linebacker Ty’Ron HopperTy’Ron Hopper (ankle) as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Linebacker Quay Walker (ankle), safety Evan Williams (quadricep), offensive lineman Andre Dillard (concussion) and cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) have been ruled out.
Alexander did not practice on Friday after being projected as a full participant on Wednesday and participating on a limited basis on Thursday. This will be the sixth consecutive game the seventh-year cornerback has missed.
Watson did not practice this week, but head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters afterward that the door is “still open” for the third-year receiver to play at Minnesota.
Bullard missed the last two games with an ankle injury but took limited practice all three days. If Bullard doesn’t get the nod, Zane Anderson will likely start at safety next to Xavier McKinney.
“I think he’s done a good job staying locked in,” said LaFleur of Bullard. “I feel like it’s very natural to go back there if you want to. It’s exactly the direction we want to go.”
Green Bay has not released game status for the following players who are expected to be available: guard/tackle Elgton Jenkins (knee), cornerback Corey Ballentine (knee), and tight ends Tucker Craft (hip) and Luke Musgrave (ankle). .
The Vikings have ruled out cornerback Fabian Morrow (hip) and listed linebacker Evan Pace Jr. (hamstring) as questionable.
Minnesota did not release the playing status for the following players who are expected to be available: safety Harrison Smith (foot), defensive end Jalen Redmond (concussion), linebacker Blake Cashman (hip), fullback C.J. Ham (ankle), linebacker Patrick Jones II (knee), cornerback Stephon Gilmore (rest) and tight end Josh Oliver (wrist).

On Friday, the Green Bay Packers ruled out starting linebacker Quaye Walker (ankle), starting safety Evan Williams (quad), starting cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) and backup tackle Andre Dillard (concussion) in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings. Dillard also missed last week’s blowout win against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.
While it’s not surprising that these players won’t start against Minnesota, it is disappointing that Alexander has suffered an apparent setback in his recovery. Eric Wilson should be included in place of Walker. The big question is what the team will do in the secondary, depending on whether safety Javon Bullard (ankle) plays. Bullard has been the team’s primary nickelback when healthy, but Williams’ absence could push Bullard into a true safety role. If Bullard doesn’t play nickel, that would mean Keizen Nixon – a preferred outside cornerback – would move in. If that happens, the third and fourth cornerbacks on the depth chart, Carrington Valentine and Eric Stokes, will be tasked with lining up on the outside against Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.
