Lorenzo Musetti defeated Jordan Thompson 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 on Saturday to reach the grass-court Queen’s Club final and will face Tommy Paul for the title.

The 30th-ranked Italian has won both of his last two tour-level finals. This will be his first final on grass.

“It would be great to win at Queens with so much history,” he said. “There are so many Italians here in London, I really feel like I’m at home.”

Earlier, 13th-ranked Paul advanced to the All-American semi-finals with a 6-4, 7-6(2) win against Sebastian Korda.

Korda injured his ankle in a fall at the end of the first set. The ankle was then treated at the changeover.

“That was definitely one of the toughest matches this week. Jordan was playing at an amazing level, especially in the second and third sets,” he said.
“At 4-3 I played some amazing shots which gave me breaks and I didn’t waver under pressure. It was important for me to hold serve in the end and I’m really proud of what I achieved this week.

“I love this sport, I’m really passionate about it and ever since I was a kid I’ve dreamed of being number one in the world.
“It would be great to win here at Queens with so much history. There are so many Italians here in London, I really feel like I’m at home.

Musetti will face Tommy Paul, who won the All-American battle with Sebastian Korda 6-4 7-6(2).
