Nashville is spending $108.5 million to bring Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and ex-Rangers defenseman Brady Scheie to Music City, the team announced Monday afternoon.
The Predators also announced that they have signed goaltender Juuse Saros to an eight-year, $61.92 million contract extension.
Longtime Lightning star Stamkos is getting a four-year, $32 million contract, Marchessault is getting a five-year, $27.5 million contract and Skjei is getting a seven-year, $49 million contract.

Stamkos, 34, has spent his entire 16-year NHL career with Tampa Bay, but the Lightning traded for the rights to Jake Guentzel and gave him a seven-year, $63 million contract, ending the Lightning captain’s time with the franchise Went. ,
Stamkos had 40 goals and 41 assists in 79 games last season and has 1,137 points in 1,082 career regular-season games.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, Steven Stamkos signed a four-year, $32 million contract with the Nashville Predators in free agency.

According to Corey Long of NHL.com, Stamkos previously expressed disappointment that the Lightning did not begin contract negotiations before the 2023–24 season.
Stamkos’ agent told TSN’s Pierre LeBrun on June 28 that Stamkos planned to begin free agency on July 1. According to Amalie Benjamin of NHL.com, Lightning general manager Julien Brisebois confirmed the news the next day.
Unlike 2016, when the Lightning signed Stamkos to a long-term deal two days before free agency, the parties were not able to come to an agreement before he hit the open market.
Stamkos will now join the Predators after recording 40 goals and 41 assists in 79 games last season.
This campaign marked his sixth point-per-game season in seven years, as well as the seventh 40-goal season of his career.
Stamkos’ previous eight-year, $68 million deal with the Lightning expired after the team’s five-game elimination by the Florida Panthers in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. The Lightning captain led his team with five goals in five games during the first round series.
