Vibes Kartel are free, and they dropped a new project to celebrate.

First Week Out is 12 tracks long and approximately 33 minutes long, featuring Squash on four songs. The project, courtesy of 21st Happilos Compilations, serves as a mixtape of the lame guys floating around since the dancehall star landed in jail.
After 13 years, Vibes Kartel and three of his co-defendants were released from a Jamaican prison on Wednesday. In 2014, the artist was sentenced to life in prison for the 2011 murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams, whose body was never found.

The trial was the longest in the island’s history, lasting 65 days. At the end of the proceedings, a juror was suspected of offering bribes to other jurors, but rather than stopping the trial and opening an investigation, the judge allowed it to continue. Vybz and his co-defendants proclaimed their innocence and fought for years to have the ruling overturned.

In March, a London appeals court threw out his murder conviction, saying that allowing a juror accused of bribery to continue serving constituted a “miscarriage of justice.” They then waited for the Jamaican courts to decide whether there would be a new trial.

The Jamaica Court of Appeal decided that a retrial was not appropriate and the four men were released. Vybz’s health was also a factor. He suffers from Graves’ disease and has heart disease. He wore a bandana around his neck and a bandana over his head because his neck was clearly swollen.

Police alleged that they had seen a message on Cartel’s phone saying that the body of associate Clive “Lizard” Williams had been turned into “mincemeat”.
The cartel, famous for hits such as Romping Shop, Dancehall Hero and Summer Time, was convicted and jailed a decade ago.

Starr and three other men – Shawn Campbell, Cairo Jones and Andre St. John – were convicted of murdering their partner Williams in March 2014.

A key piece of evidence in the 65-day trial – the longest in Jamaican history – was a text message.

Police alleged they obtained a message from Cartel’s phone stating that Williams had been chopped into “mince” so his remains would never be found.
Prosecution witnesses and relatives of the victim required state protection due to the numerous threats they faced at the time, the Associated Press reported.

Kartel, 48, was serving a life sentence – 35 years – for the 2011 murder. Later on appeal it was reduced to 32 and a half years.

But Britain-based Jamaica’s top court, the Privy Council, threw out his conviction in March due to juror misconduct.
It also asked the Jamaican Court of Appeal to determine whether a new trial should be held.
On Wednesday, in a shock decision, a three-judge panel declared that Kartel – born Adidja Palmer – and his three co-appellants were not eligible for retrial.

The landmark decision resulted in all four being freed.

“We have come to the conclusion that the interests of justice do not require a new trial,” Justice Marva MacDonald-Bishop said on a livestream of the court hearing.
After the court ordered Kartel’s release from prison, he hailed him as “the man”, the Jamaica Gleaner reported.

Also known as the “World Boss”, the cartel is extremely popular in the Caribbean island nation.

He has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Jay-Z, Rihanna, Missy Elliott, and Eminem.

The court said on Wednesday there was enough evidence to suggest that Kartel would likely not serve a lengthy sentence if a retrial were held.

Now the Jamaican sensation is roaming freely on the streets of his island again.

The renowned dancehall artist formerly known as Adidja Palmer posted on Instagram holding a bottle of champagne hours after his release.
‘I’m out! Me and my wife,” Vybz Kartel said in the video.

The video has received nearly half a million likes on Instagram and has sparked debate about his fiancee, who was in the car next to him.

Children

Two of his seven children have continued his musical legacy, sons Jaheem, also known as Little Vybz, and Akhil Raheem Palmer, also known as Little Addy, since 2014. “PG 13 ” (also known as) are releasing music as a duo. “Cartel Sons”)

Wife

Kartel’s fiance, Sidem Ozturk, is seen kissing the superstar in the video as he praises her.

Fox 5’s Lisa Evers spoke to Ozturk in 2022 after the couple confirmed they got engaged during an authorized prison visit over the summer.

Sidem had never been publicly vocal before.
“Did he actually propose to you, did he have a song to propose to you, can you share some of that with us?” Evers asked him.

Ozturk responded, “How it happened. We were just calling each other ‘hubby’ and ‘wifey’ and he said, ‘We’re getting married so you call me hubby, or I call you wifey.’ “I’m saying, it’s not serious enough. So you’re my fiancée, we’re going to get married.”

Ozturk studied psychology and worked as a social worker helping vulnerable adults and children in London. He left it all to be closer to the love of his life.

She was also the inspiration for Kartel’s EP, titled “True Religion”.
