Randy Orton vs Gunther results: Comeback the same night as CM Punk,Movies
The German crowd was deafening as they welcomed their hometown hero to the main event of the bash in Berlin.
Gunther put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the legendary Randy Orton in a high-stakes match, and by the time the night was over in Berlin, Gunther was hit twice with a Viper, and his first televised title defense under.
belt.
Gunther and Orton quickly took things out and Orton attempted to incapacitate “The Ring General” by continuously targeting the champion’s back and arms. The thirty-minute match featured unnecessary use of the announce table, rule-breaking use of steel steps, and no possibility of violence. During the match, both the champion and challenger suffered several injuries, including Gunther’s hand being severely disrupted and Orton’s back being thrown out after being slammed to the mat multiple times. Despite Orton’s best efforts to fight Gunther’s narrow sleeper hold, the champion’s tenacious stamina won out, and Gunther was retained by referee’s decision. As Gunther celebrated, Orton regained enough energy to stand and the champion showed his respect to Orton by shaking his hand. Ortona accepted Gunther’s proposal and the show closed after Ortona offered Gunther some words of support.
Gunther won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from Damian Priest at SummerSlam. With this win, Gunther is set to continue his title reign for 27 days. Gunther is known for his lengthy title reigns – specifically, his record-breaking 666-day reign with the Intercontinental Championship – and with Saturday’s display of dominance, it looks like his WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign will be no different. Will happen.
Orton was vying to become a 15-time champion in Berlin. Had he bested “The Ring General”, he would have become the third man in WWE history to have the most title wins, just behind John Cena and Ric Flair, who have each won 16 championship titles.
Comeback the same night as CM Punk
Michael Cole, Big E and The Miz hosted the preshow outside Uber Arena. There was a large, angry crowd behind them. Even when Cole was shown elsewhere on the field they applauded and chanted for Kathy Kelly, Brian Saxton and Jackie Redmond.
Randy Orton’s Sit-Down Interview – Part One
Orton said there was a six-month period when he thought his career might be over but a few months after the surgery he started feeling better and began training. Orton spoke to Shawn, Steve and Undertaker and they all admitted feeling the same thing he was feeling, that the fans would no longer care about him after the long time off.
Cole asked about CM Punk’s return at Survivor Series, the same night as Orton’s return match. Orton was cool with it. Orton also talked about how much WWE has changed for the better. If needed, they can take a few weeks off and freshen up or stay with their families.
He told how much he has changed with time and how much he has matured. He talked about what it was like to be a “babyface” like John Cena and enjoyed being a “good guy”.
Peter Rosenberg interviews Bianca Bellaire and Jade Cargill. Belair said they would win the tag titles by defeating Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre. Cargill had no interest in dethroning them (and even used that word) and said they would win their titles back.
Redmond interviews Liv Morgan and Dominic Mysterio. Morgan did not like Redmond’s question and listed every reason to hate Rhea Ripley.
They aired a video package featuring many of the couples we’ve seen in WWE (including Edge and Vickie Guerrero and Daniel Bryan and AJ Lee).
There was a random Braun Strowman video package to waste time. He is not in today’s show.
He thanked Babymetal and Electric Callboy for today’s theme song RATATATA. Miz read the commercial and Big E laughed out loud.
There was another video to waste time. He interviewed a group of wrestlers about the best heels and heel moments in WWE.
