Ollie Gordon II NFL Draft: Suspicion of DUI,Arrested,Age&Height
Oklahoma State first-round prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft Ollie Gordon has been arrested for driving under the influence.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol arrested Gordon after he was observed drifting out of his lane twice and driving 82 mph in a 65 mph zone. Police say he had open bottles of alcohol, initially refused to take field sobriety tests, and later had a blood alcohol level above the legal limit when he was taken to jail.
As a sophomore last season, Gordon won the Doak Walker Award as the best running back in college football, as well as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year award, after rushing for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns. Won.
Although running backs rarely go in the first round anymore, Gordon is one of the few who can. At 6-foot-2 and 225 pounds, his size is impressive, and he also has the speed and movement to break big plays. But off-the-field troubles could negatively impact his draft stock.
Suspicion of DUI
On the running back scene, a big incident happened this weekend when arguably the best running back in the country was arrested for DUI, among other things:
I don’t remember all the details of the JT Barrett incident, but it is a huge crime because he also lied and said he never drank anything, then later said he had one drink. I’m not sure what his punishment will be since OSU has not commented further, but I think it will be a decent punishment.
I don’t understand how kids in these positions put themselves in such extremely dangerous situations as the leader of their team and in this case, one of the best players in the country. I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve done the same thing in the past as a college kid and young adult and I understand the seriousness of it.
