Actor Nick Pascal has been arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border and charged with attempted murder in the alleged stabbing of his estranged girlfriend, authorities said.

According to the Los Angeles District Attorney, Mr. Pascal is accused of breaking into the victim’s home and stabbing her multiple times, shortly after she took out a restraining order against him.

They did not identify her, but American media reported her name as Hollywood makeup artist Eli Shehorn.
Mr. Pascal reportedly fled the scene and was detained at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

He has played small roles in films such as Rebel Moon Part One and Jobs and TV shows including How I Met Your Mother.

He also starred in the sketch comedy podcast National Day Riff and the sci-fi series A Demon’s Destiny: The Lone Warrior.

Friends of Ms Shehorn set up a fundraising page for her, saying she was “fighting for her life in a serious condition”.

“Ellie is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness and love,” she wrote.
“No one deserves to endure such a traumatic experience, especially someone as kind and caring as Ellie.

“The road to recovery will be long and difficult, but with your support, we can help ease his burden and provide him with the financial support he so desperately needs.”

In a statement, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said the “heinous” incident was “a stark reminder of the dangers of domestic violence”.
“My thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to the victim in this horrific incident,” he said.

“Our office, including our Victim Services Bureau, offers our support and resources as she embarks on a long and difficult journey to recovery from the physical and emotional trauma she has endured…

“We will ensure that those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable for their actions.”

The charges against Pascal come a week after Shehorn was found bleeding inside her home on May 23 after being stabbed more than 20 times, according to KTLA. He was placed in the intensive care unit of a local hospital before being moved out of the ICU a few days later. She remains admitted in the hospital.

The 35-year-old actress had taken out a restraining order against the actor, who was released from jail days before she was attacked.

“I found her, and I had to go into the bedroom where it happened. It wasn’t a pretty scene,” Shehorn’s friend Christine White told KTLA after the attack. “This is not the kind of thing that should happen to anyone. You don’t think that’s ever going to happen to you.”

Her friends started a GoFundMe page to help raise the money needed to cover her hospital bills, including her long stay, surgeries, treatments, and necessary care during her recovery.
