D Sana Durgappa, who belongs to the Bhowei Community (SC), was a faculty member at the Sustainable Technology Center at the Indian Institute of Science (IISC). He filed a private complaint with the Bengaluru court, on the basis of which the Sadashivnagar police registered the first information report (FIR) on Monday, 27 January.
