The Englishman has had abundant success on the golf course, with a US Open victory and numerous titles on both sides of the Atlantic.
He has won more than ten times on both the PGA and DP World Tours, making six Ryder Cup appearances.

Rose, a former world No. 1 and major champion, is married to his wife, Kate Rose.
Kate Rose (born Phillips) was born on July 30, 1980 and he started dating Rose in 2000.
Kate was a former international gymnast and graduate of the University of Sussex, and worked as an assistant at IMG where she met her long-term partner Justin Rose.
IMG then represented Rose and the pair traveled together on their international golf program as he attempted to establish himself in the early stages of his professional career.
Six years later in December 2006, the couple got married and now have two children.
Their son Leo was born in 2009, while their daughter Lottie was born in 2012.
Kate has been a regular supporter of Rose at events throughout her career wearing the wreath in professional sport and is often seen roaming the fairways or celebrating near the green.
Rose won her first major title at the US Open in Merion in 2013 and won gold for Great Britain at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
He has 11 wins on the PGA Tour and 11 on the formerly known European Tour, while he has also played a key role on several Ryder Cup teams.
The pair have lived in the Bahamas and the US during their relationship, while the Roses established the Kate and Justin Rose Foundation in 2009.
It has been a huge success, with the two doing charitable work aimed at fighting childhood hunger in Orlando.
Rose’s wife Kate also plays an important role in the women’s tournaments known as the ‘Rose Ladies Series’.
The tour was established in 2020 as a response to travel restrictions during the pandemic.
World Ranking
The day’s business was slow at the ice cream stand roundabout Royal Troon. As the leaders were arriving at the practice green, rain clouds descended, and misery spread across the links like a puddle that no one came to clean. It was the kind of weather that turns right away as soon as you open the front door, and an hour later the crowds began to thin out as people started going home early. Even the dry humor of the locals was moist. As compelling as The Open is, you need a pretty good reason to be out when you can watch it back on TV.
Open 2024: Third round – as it happened
Justin Rose had one. Rose, at five under and two shots off Shane Lowry’s overnight lead at the start of the round, was one of the few people left in the field who believed he had a reasonable shot at becoming champion golfer of the year. He had been waiting for this chance since finishing fourth at Royal Birkdale as a 17-year-old amateur in 1998 and he roused it with his four-and-a-half-hour round. By the time he met his end, he was still alive.
He shot 73 with three bogeys, more than three times his score in his first 36 holes here. But given the circumstances, and given the carnage going on around him, it was a cool, controlled, fine exhibition of golf.
Rose knows how precious this opportunity is.
He is now 43 and, as he said himself earlier this week, “the clock is ticking”. At the time, Rose may not have even realized it, but he was quick to realize when he sat down with his team in May to plan their schedule for the season. Those conversations have been like this for the last 20 years. “And you go, OK, Masters, Open, US Open, PGA,” Rose explained, “how can we plan around this?” But this year he realized that, for the first time since 2007, he had not actually qualified for the Open.
Rose qualified for the championships last year because he was in the top 50 of the world rankings, but what!
John Deere
Which was how Rose, a man who has won the US Open, an Olympic gold medal and $60m in prize money, came to be teeing it up in the final Open qualifying tournament at Burnham & Berrow on the Somerset coast on the first Tuesday in July.
Which tells you plenty about just how much the Open means to him, even now. “It’s a special event, the one I’ve dreamed about winning ever since I was a kid,” he explained, “and obviously you’ve got to be in it to win it.” And if the only way was to go through a 36-hole tournament on the banks of the Bristol Channel in Burnham-on-Sea, so be it.

Rose had played at Burnham before when he was a teenager on the amateur circuit. He won the Carris Trophy, for boys under 18, there in 1995. And here he was again, almost 30 years later, scrapping it out with 71 others for one of the last final qualifying spots to the Open, and sharing the course’s portable toilets with the few punters who had wandered in to watch. According to reports, he stopped for a long evening in the clubhouse afterwards to sign autographs and talk to the members.

He said the experience reacquainted him with links golf and, maybe more important, meant he wasn’t able to take the opportunity to play in it for granted in the way he had done previously. And watching him grind his way around the links during the worst of the weather, cap on backwards to keep the drips from the brim from falling on his face, you could even believe he really was enjoying himself out there, lining up his lag putts, and grimacing as he figured his way out of the rough. He was just about the only one in Troon who was, along with the fellas selling the umbrellas.
