Since launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, members of the Russian military and other Russian officials have deported hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens to Russia, including children who have been forcibly separated from their families. We are aware of new and credible reports that Russian authorities are listing kidnapped Ukrainian children on Russian adoption websites. This is disgusting and horrifying. These Ukrainian children are with their families inside Ukraine. Russia is waging a war not only against the Ukrainian army – but also against the Ukrainian people. As the President has previously said, Russia is committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine. We will stand with the Ukrainian people as we help save them from Russia’s barbaric war of aggression.

Mister. SULLIVAN: It’s a great feeling. (laughter.)
Mister. Sevastopulo: So would you forgive me if I brought you back there for just two minutes? (let’s laugh.)
Mister. Sullivan: I guess it comes with the territory.

Mister. SEVASTOPULO: You know, it’s no secret that President Biden is under a lot of pressure from Democrats and Democratic donors to drop out of the race. I know you can’t talk about the campaign, so I won’t ask you that. But I want to know: Are you seeing any impact on how anti-Americans are viewing America? Is there any indication that they’re going to do something because of all the distractions going on in Washington?
Mister. SULLIVAN: Well, first of all, you know, last week we had the NATO summit. Anja was kind enough to talk about what we tried to do with respect to American allies.
And if you look at the outcome of that summit, it was a display of unity and purpose and dynamism, and yes, burden sharing, the likes of which we have not seen in a long time. And it was unity around Ukraine. This was unity regarding the threat from Russia. And it was unity around the threat from China, where that communique contained a very important statement about how China represents a challenge to the transatlantic community.
And I think what our adversaries saw was the United States, under the leadership of President Biden, uniting the most powerful coalition in the history of the world. And not just celebrating 75 years, but really setting the tone for the future in a profound way.
And so, we will continue to move forward day by day toward a ceasefire and hostage settlement in Gaza, continue to support Ukraine on the battlefield, and work on the full range of initiatives we are taking to send a message to our adversaries. do. If they want to mess with the United States and our allies, they’re going to have a very rude awakening about what’s going to happen to them.
