“Hawaii Five-0” actor Taylor Wiley has died, his entertainment lawyer confirmed to CBS News. He was 56 years old.
The cause of death was not shared. Local news outlet KITV reported that Willie died in Hurricane, Utah.
Executive producer Peter Lenkov, who worked with Wiley on “Hawaii Five-0” and “Magnum P.I.” worked on both, said on Instagram that he was “devastated” and “heartbroken” by Willie’s death.
“You charmed me into becoming a regular on the show… and in my life,” Lenkov wrote in a second post along with a slideshow of photos of himself and Willie. “You were family. And I will miss you every day, brother.”
Willie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Before entering the film and television industry, he had a career as a sumo wrestler and mixed martial artist.
Wiley played Kamekona Tupuola on “Hawaii Five-0” for 171 episodes. He starred in “MacGyver” and “Magnum P.I.” Also reprized the role in. He also played a role in the film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and appeared during the 20th season of “The Amazing Race”.
Kitv reported that Wiley is survived by his wife, Hellona, and their two children.

In episode 171 of the “Hawaii Five-0” reboot, Wiley played Kamekona Tupuola, a food truck owner who frequently gave tips to the show’s state police unit, led by Alex O’Loughlin’s character Steve McGarrett and Scott Caan. Used to be Danny Williams.

“T, as I’ve told you many times, I fell in love with you at the first audition,” he wrote. “You came in with a towel over your head wiping off the sweat, and I was mesmerized. You mesmerized me into making you a regular on the show… and in my life. You were family. And I will miss you every day, Brother .”
“PS: When we talked last week, we laughed about how right you were from day one,” Lenkov continued. “Five-0 was our dream job. And I was so lucky that we got to share that magic together.”
In response to Lenkov’s tribute to Willy, the companion “Magnum P.I.” Including many fans and fellow stars. And “Hawaii Five-O” actor Zachary Knighton offered his condolences.
He commented, “RIP the best man ever,” while producer Trey Callaway wrote that Willie’s memory “will truly remain a blessing to millions.”
