Won gold medal in all-around

Simone Biles won her ninth gold medal by defeating Brazil’s Rebecca Andrade in the all-around gymnastics final at the Paris Olympics. At 27, she is the oldest Olympic women’s gymnastics champion since 1952.

Biles’ U.S. women’s teammate Sunisa Lee won the bronze medal in another feat of history – Lee is the first player since Nadia Comaneci to win a gold medal in women’s gymnastics at a single Games along with a medal in the same event at the next Olympics. 1976 and ’80.
Biles had not planned to perform her signature Yurchenko double pike vault in the all-around final. In the end, he was glad he did.

“I have worked very hard to achieve this,” Andrade said. “It is absolutely incredible. I had a lot of fun, every moment was sensational.”
