Speeding cars collided at the NASCAR All-Star Race Sunday night in North Carolina, with drivers Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Kyle Busch involved in a fight that later involved their crew.
According to NASCAR, tempers apparently flared after Busch hit Stenhouse’s No. 47 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, sending the car into a perimeter wall. The accident took Stenhouse out of the race after only two laps (of 200) at North Wilkesboro Speedway.
Stenhouse then parked the car in Busch’s pit box and climbed over the wall and approached the crew to find out something. Since there is no exit tunnel at North Wilkesboro, he had to wait until the end of the race for a chance to face Busch.
During the post-contest fireworks, both drivers were being recorded talking in the garage when Stenhouse threw a right hook to Busch’s face.
Video of the collision posted by NASCAR shows that Stenhouse was clearly agitated while talking with Busch.
Bush said, “We all hit each other,” to which Stenhouse replied, “You hit the fence and then you hit me.” Bush responded, “I don’t believe you.”

A second later, others surrounding both stars jumped in to intervene and separate them, causing both to fall to the ground.
Crew members also joined the melee and started throwing punches at each other. In a video shared by NASCAR on Twitter, Busch is seen swinging at the man who separated him from Stenhouse.
In an interview with Fox Sports after the fight, Stenhouse said: “You know, I feel like Kyle and I have always competed hard with each other. … Then again, I wrecked him once at Daytona, and he’s been bugging me ever since.
“I feel like we get along well with each other outside the racetrack. I talk to him a lot. I’m not sure why he was so angry that I pushed him three times.
He added that being stuck at the racetrack “certainly doesn’t help the frustration.”
“If there was a tunnel, I would probably be at home and see the end of it. But here we are,” Stenhouse said.
NASCAR said there were no serious injuries in the collision, and if any penalties were incurred, they would be assessed by Wednesday according to normal procedures and timelines.
Busch finished 10th in his No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and Stenhouse finished last.
Joey Logano won the race in his No. 22 Ford Mustang Dark Horse and its $1 million prize.
Neither the drivers nor NASCAR immediately responded to requests for comment.

As for the controversy surrounding Busch’s hauler, the wheels were set in motion after the two-time Cup Series champion sent Stenhouse into the wall after just two laps in the exhibition race. Stenhouse, trapped in the field at North Wilkesboro with nowhere to go because there was no exit tunnel, vowed that he would see Busch after the race was over.
Stenhouse remained true to his word and waited for Bush outside his hauler. Once Bush arrived with a swarm of media around him, it was on. The two exchanged words before Stenhouse threw a right hand at Busch, causing a massive brawl between the two and their respective pit crews.
As the situation was dissipating and Stenhouse was dragged away from the scene, he shouted to Bush, “I’ll destroy you in Charlotte.” Bush responded to the comment, “Bring it on. I don’t regret. I suck just as bad as you.
