A former Special Forces commando runs into trouble when she returns to her hometown in Mouli Surya’s female-driven star vehicle. Today we will discuss about Jessica Alba New Movie Trigger Warning review: Young,Kids,Age.

Jessica Alba New Movie Trigger Warning review: Young,Kids,Age

Actress Jessica Alba has returned after five years. According to ‘Collider’ report, the actress, who debuted with ‘Camp Nowhere’ at the age of 13, has made a comeback with Netflix’s ‘Trigger Warning‘.

The film is also significant because it marks the return of Jessica Alba after 2019’s ‘Killers Anonymous’. She plays a Special Forces commando who returns home to the small town of Creation after her father Harry (played by Alejandro de Hoyos) passes away.

Before long she realizes that there is more to her father’s death than meets the eye, and sets out to discover it.

Jessica Alba starts action, gang violence
Directed by Indonesian filmmaker Molly Surya, ‘Trigger Warning’ will be a gritty action-packed thriller based on mass violence and political corruption. A mix between ‘Rambo: First Blood’ and ‘John Wick’, ‘Trigger Warning’ has been in the making since 2016. Interestingly, ‘John Wick’ producer Basil Iwanyk is also involved and delivers an action-thriller experience. For those in ‘John Wick’ or ‘First Blood’.

‘Trigger Warning’: Trailer
In the trailer released by Netflix, Alba’s character, Parker, is shown facing dangerous gangs and unpleasant politicians in a dusty, small town. The action begins with Parker mourning the sudden death of his father. She reconnects with her old relations, including Senator Swann, who politely reminds her that everyone in town has always liked her. But she realizes there is more than meets the eye and begins to investigate Swann and her relationship.

In its official synopsis, Netflix says, “Special Forces commando Parker (Jessica Alba) is on active duty overseas when she is called back to her hometown with the tragic news that her father has died suddenly. Now on Family Bar Parker, along with her former lover-turned-sheriff Jesse (Mark Webber), his angry brother Elvis (Jake Weary) and their powerful Senator Swann (Anthony Michael).

Young

It seems Jessica Alba’s new Netflix action film Trigger Warning needs a different kind of warning: The film is currently running at even lower review scores than Jennifer Lopez’s sci-fi bomb, Atlas.

The film currently boasts an 18% critic score and 45% audience score on the review aggregator. But it gets worse. Alba’s new action film, the English-language debut from Indonesian director Molly Surya, is scoring worse than Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon Part II: The Scargiver, receiving a 15% with critics and a 48% with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Has got a disappointing performance.
I don’t always agree with the critics’ consensus, but in my review of Rebel Moon Part II I called the film “tedious, derivative, and unbelievable beyond belief” and am amazed that an experienced director like Snyder can still make such terrible movies. How can it be made?

And yet somehow, trigger warnings have fared worse than both of these. It currently stands at 0% on Rotten Tomatoes with a 20% audience score, though this is likely to change as more reviews come in now that the film is live on Netflix. See:

David Ehrlich of IndieWire says the film is “lifeless and instantly forgettable”, which isn’t exactly what you want to hear about an action movie in which a special ops cop takes on a nefarious gang of violent criminals to protect his family. Fighting with gangs. Ehrlich says, “Even this film’s unnecessarily provocative title—which promises a degree of political confrontation that is entirely absent from the film—feels as if it is a byproduct of a culture that has stifled criticism.” The world’s “For You” tab has handed over its final traces of thinking and/or curatorial agency.

Dennis Harvey of Variety is somewhat more optimistic, finding the film too formal to qualify as “advanced genre” or claim a personal impression of his previous work, but also stating that “it is an entertaining, fast action melodrama that should do well on “Netflix.”

Kids

Readers are equally unimpressed. One viewer review reads, “For a film that bills itself as a female John Wick, there’s nothing that makes John Wick special.” There’s no attention to detail, no care for firearm accuracy, and certainly no care for the script and locations. Jessica Alba’s effort is the only thing that makes it watchable.”

“June 21, 2024 I wish I could give this zero stars,” writes another. “The acting is terrible. The gun fight scenes are unbearable to watch. I would love to watch a Tubi movie marathon.

The people who enjoyed it have one thing in common: They’re Jessica Alba fans. “Really enjoyed! Jessica Alba is back!” One audience critic puts it succinctly. And maybe that’s enough. Sometimes even a dumb action movie can be fun if you go into it with the right mindset.
Trigger Warning is now streaming on Netflix. I will update this post if/when the Rotten Tomatoes score changes.

Note: At the time of publication, it has a fresh score of 1 out of 8 on Rotten Tomatoes, equivalent to 12.5%. It is still visible at 0% on the main page (see screenshot).
