Rapper Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday on a charge of disorderly conduct after allegedly yelling at people on a yacht in Miami Beach, Florida, police records show.

The 33-year-old “Goosebumps” rapper, whose real name is Jax Berman Webster, was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 4:30 a.m. on a count of disorderly intoxication as well as trespassing on property after a warning.

Scott was arrested after police were called to a Miami Beach marina early Thursday morning on a report of a disturbance on a yacht, according to a Miami Beach police arrest affidavit. A person had called dispatch and said that people were fighting on the ship.

When officers arrived, they found Scott “standing near the dock, yelling at the people on the ship.” At first Scott followed police orders to sit down, but then he disobeyed them. The complainant told the police that he did not want to make any change and just wanted to take the wrapper off the ship.

The affidavit states that officers could smell a “strong odor of alcohol on the defendant’s breath.”

Eventually, under threat of arrest, he agreed to leave the dock, but he did not go quietly. While walking toward the boardwalk, Scott “walked backwards yelling obscenities at people on board,” the affidavit says.

He left the marina, but returned five minutes later and officers saw him walking back toward the boat.
The affidavit states that Scott approached the sergeant with whom he had previously spoken and began yelling once again – “being disorderly” and “disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and surrounding residential buildings.” “, which is causing public unrest.”
The affidavit states that he was taken into custody at 1:17 am. Scott later admitted that he had been drinking and said, “It’s Miami.”

Later on Thursday, the star shared a photo of her mugshot edited with sunglasses and headphones on her Instagram Story.

Police said they received a call complaining of people fighting on a boat. When they arrived, Scott was “standing near the dock yelling at the people on the ship.”

According to the affidavit, Scott complied with police requests to sit, but then “began to continue standing, disobeying officers’ orders.”

Officers said they “smelled a strong odor of alcohol on the defendant’s breath.”

A police officer asked Scott to leave the dock after confirming that the person making the complaint did not want to press charges and that Scott did not have any property on the boat. Scott retreated from the scene, began walking backwards and yelling obscenities at people on the boat, police said.
Scott then got into his car and, according to police, told officers “he’ll be hurt if he gets in the vehicle” – a slur meaning physical impact.

The car left the property, but the affidavit says Scott returned about five minutes later. A police officer reportedly saw Scott walking back toward the yacht, ignoring police and disobeying orders.

While Scott was speaking to an officer, he “began to yell once again” and became “erratic”, with his behavior causing a public disturbance. Scott was then taken into custody.
Scott admitted that he had been drinking, adding “It’s Miami“, alluding to the city’s reputation for bacchanalian festivities.

Representatives for Scott’s label did not immediately respond to NPR’s requests for comment.

In a post on X shortly after he was released on bond, Scott simply said, “Lol.” A post on his official Instagram account features photoshopped headphones and sunglasses on his booking photo.

According to the affidavit, 10 officers were using body-worn cameras during the incident.

This is not Scott’s first run-in with law enforcement. During several of Scott’s concerts, the musician caused controversy by riling up his crowd, resulting in rowdy behavior from fans.
