A spectacular final back nine saw Rory McIlroy defeat overnight leader Xander Schauffele and claim his fourth career Wells Fargo Championship.

McIlroy trailed by two shots after seven holes, but four birdies and two eagles in the next eight took the 35-year-old six shots ahead.

Schauffele finished second at five under after a 71, while South Korea’s An Byeong-hun was tied for third at nine under after a 66.
