Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker is facing criticism after giving a controversial graduation speech to the Class of 2024 at Benedictine College.
The 20-minute speech was given on May 11 on the campus of the Catholic College in Atchison, Kansas. The NFL kicker spoke on a variety of topics, including fertility issues, women’s roles in the home, Pride Month and more.
“Bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted key life issues. Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as degenerated cultural values and increased support for the media arise from the prevalence of disorder,” the 28-year-old says. Said the old one.

“Let’s be honest, there’s nothing good about playing God in having kids, whether it’s your ideal number or the perfect time to conceive,” she said. “No matter how you spin it, there is nothing natural about Catholic birth control.”
The footballer also quoted a line from pop star Taylor Swift’s song “Karma”.
Swift is dating Butker’s teammate Travis Kelce.
He said, “Sadly, too many priests focus most of their happiness on the praise they receive from their parishioners.”
“And in pursuit of this, they let their guard down and became overly familiar. This undone familiarity would prove problematic every time because as my teammate’s girlfriend says, familiarity breeds contempt.

“You see, this is why we need Pride Month, this is why I continue to tell LGBTQ people,” another wrote.
“This is atrocious,” wrote a third commenter. “As talented as he is, you could easily find a kicker who isn’t (anti-gay) and misogynistic, I’m sure.”
Butker was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2017 but was signed by the Chiefs in September of that year. He has since won two Super Bowls with the Chiefs and received praise after kicking a 27-yard field goal that won the 2023 Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.
