Reports first started coming in around 8.30 pm on Thursday, August 29, and in just five minutes there were more than 6,00 reports.
After 15 minutes it increased to more than 17,000.
Most of the reports relate to the app, formerly known as Twitter, as it struggles to load posts and content.
Users are currently unable to create new posts or search terms as the issue is affecting more and more users.
The reason behind the problem and how long it will last has not been told yet.

Down for Everyone or Just Me said: “Yes, we are detecting problems with Twitter that started 28 minutes ago. The last outage for Twitter was found on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 with a duration of approximately 1 hour Was gone.”
One user said: “I know this is stupid to tweet but is Twitter down?” Another said: “When Twitter goes down, where do you go to find out if Twitter is down?”
Another said: “I refresh my feed every 5 seconds to see if it’s working or it’s still down.”
Down Detector said the problem started around 3:30 p.m. Within just five minutes, reports of issues reached more than 6,000. Within 15 minutes it increased to 17,000. It is unknown what caused the problems, or how long they would continue
Most of the reports relate to the app, with users saying it is struggling to post and load content. One person complained: “Still can’t access account. So not getting value for my money with both my premium membership and the accounts I subscribe to, it’s been almost a week now “

Thousands of users in the UK and US have reported problems accessing their accounts. The popular social network, still commonly known by its previous name, Twitter, experienced problems at around 8pm UK time, causing massive problems in the US and UK.
