The 26-year-old pop musician is currently enjoying a meteoric rise thanks to her bold costume choices and signature white face makeup. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday, June 20, Roan shared where she gets her style inspiration from.

“My stylist Genesis Webb and I work from drag, we work from horror movies, we work from burlesque, we work from theater,” she told host Jimmy Fallon. “I like looking pretty and scary. Or, like, pretty and clingy. Or not pretty at all. I like that too.”

The “Pink Pony Club” singer explained that when it comes to fashion, versatility is top of mind.

“I think it’s nothing serious,” he said. “I love that fans find such deep meanings to things and I just say, ‘I don’t know, I thought I looked hot.’ Like, I don’t know if it’s anything more than that.”

For her interview with Fallon, 49, Roan wore a black minidress with raised wings. Her dramatic makeup look, which also included bleached eyebrows, included coordinating feather details.

“You look amazing. Thank you so much for coming,” the host told the star.

“Thank you so much for letting me borrow this dress,” she joked.

The singer notably traded her signature copper curls for a bleach blonde style. Her hairstylist Dom Forletta told Vogue that the look resembled a wig.

“The blonde really enhanced that ethereal, swan look we were going for here,” Forletta told the outlet. “Yes, it’s a wig! A wig and a lot of extensions because we wanted to match the perfection of Chappelle’s real hair.”

Roan later performed his hit song “Good Luck, Babe!” Wore a white feathered dress and matching headpiece for the presentation.

Earlier this month, the singer performed at the Governors Ball in New York City.

Jimmy Fallon

Chappelle Roan proved to be more than just “your favorite artist’s favorite artist” as a guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday. Wearing a breathtaking, feathered dress that looked like something out of Guillermo del Toro’s “Black Swan,” the rising pop star left the late-night host speechless by teasing her for Googling him before her interview.

“Didn’t you know who I was before?” Roan, whose personality is based somewhat on assertive self-confidence, nervously replied to Fallon, “No!” And laughingly he put his face in his hands.

The moment came when Fallon referenced Roan’s tagline, “I’m your favorite artist’s favorite artist,” which she introduced on stage at Coachella last month. She surprised the host by revealing that she took inspiration from “RuPaul’s Drag Race” winner Sasha Colby for the sign-off.

“That was a reference to Sasha Colby. And she says – there are gay people here, Roan said, distracted by the stray cheers in the audience.

“Yes, there are gay people here, yes,” Fallon said.

“Sasha Colby said, ‘I’m your favorite drag queen’s favorite drag queen,’ and I was like, it touched my heart, and so I was like, I hope Sasha Colby sees me one day, and that’s That’s why I said it.”
“I Googled you today to see what comes up,” Fallon began.

“Didn’t you know who I was before?” Ron said to the roar of the audience.

“Okay, I Googled you too – you want to know what came up?” Roan teased.

“I don’t want to know what happens!” Fallon replied.

According to Google’s suggested search results, the pop star had a theory: “I didn’t do it. It’s this random twink that works at Google, I know it is. I know it’s just some assistant, Like, ‘We love him.’ You know what I mean?”

For a dramatic and themed entrance, Roan emerged from a giant red apple, another tribute to the city where the celebration was taking place.

She explained to the crowd that she was “drawn” to be Lady Liberty because she is “the greatest queen of them all”, before quoting the poem by Emma Lazarus that is engraved on the famous statue.
